The tragic reality is that the rate of suicide among people working in the care industry is almost twice as high as the national average. In addition, those who work in this industry are more likely to struggle with a range of mental health conditions.
The mental health of care workers is not usually addressed or even considered by their employer. In fact, 84% of carers state that they feel pressured, 78% report suffering from anxiety, and 55% claim that they have suffered from depression as a result of their employment.
The jobs held by those in this field are some of the most emotionally taxing that can possibly be imagined. Because they are themselves carers for vulnerable individuals, they frequently put the mental health of others ahead of their own.
Our Mental Health Awareness Training for Carers and Nurses is broken down into four sections that are simple to understand and beautifully animated. These sections aim to educate learners on the various types of mental health problems, the science that lies behind our thinking, and where to go to get help from outside sources. Anyone who works in the care field, such as physicians, nurses, youth workers, social care professionals, therapists, charity workers, and volunteers, is eligible to enrol in this course.
