The Privacy & Dignity Training Course is a useful approach to learn how to offer individualised care to people while making sure that they, if possible, maintain control over their care choices. Where it is possible, you should assist them in becoming independent while maintaining their dignity and privacy.
Privacy is described in the Care Certificate as “providing someones space when & where they need it” or “handling personal information discreetly.”
In order to treat someone with dignity, one must “concentrate on the value of every individual, including respecting their views, choices, and decisions,” “not make assumptions about how they want to be treated,” “work with care and compassion,” and “communicate directly with the individual whenever possible.”
This course gives students the information they need to put their learning into practise in the workplace, allowing them to complete the “practical” portion of their training and receive the Care Certificate from their management after they satisfy the necessary criteria. Although these programmes offer some instruction, practical experience is still necessary to get a care certificate.
